Croatian language – the official language in Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina (along with Bosnian and Serbian) and one of six official languages of the autonomous region of Vojvodina within Serbia, the language of the Croats, the Serbs, the Montenegrins, and Bosnian Muslims. It is mainly widespread in Croatia. About 6.2 mln people speak Croatian. It belongs to the South group of Slovenian languages. Croatian has 3 dialects: Shtokavsky, Chakavsky, Kaikavsky.
